There's no such thing as green IT.

Unless a server can grow branches, emit oxygen and become a safe habitat for squirrels, it's hard to see how green IT can be. But on a daily basis the IT industry continues to trumpet the latest in green technology.

A cynical person would suggest that this bandwagon is laden with £ signs...

If green IT really does exist then maybe it's more about an approach or strategy rather than the product. For example, can a green server help support your organisations' CSR strategy if it's not maximised to the full?
