How did you get where you are today?

In term of qualifications, I've worked as a consultant to government as a listed advisor for the Communications Electronic Security Group (CESG). I'm also a seasoned CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and a founder member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP). I've worked in IT security for over 15 years, and my previous employers have included RSA Labs, Security Dynamics, McDonnell Douglas and Siemens Network Systems Limited.

What are you working on right now?

I'm working on enterprise-wide ‘Single Sign On' solutions that give our customers all of the benefits of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) security, but at a fraction of the cost. These solutions also employ advanced biometric technologies, which eliminates the problem of users forgetting their passwords.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career to date?

Actually, it's my Dad who's been the greatest influence and driving force behind everything I've done to date.

Who in business do you most admire - and why?

Frank Abagnale Junior [the former con artist turned security consultant whose adventures were portrayed in the movie Catch Me If You Can]. He turned his ability to exploit a system into a highly profitable and legitimate career.

What aspect of your job do you find most satisfying?

The variety, plus doing something I love for a living.

What has been your most valuable lesson learnt?

Not to give too much information away!

Which are you favourite websites and blogs?

For all the latest news in the world of security in the Voice over IP space, I look at blueboxpotcast.com.

How do you spend your downtime? Where? With who?

Downtime is a very apt description as I spend much of my free time scuba diving. The type of scuba diving I do is not a team activity. Once you are in the water, you are on your own. During these hours of solitude, many of Logicalis's most exciting solutions and developments have been conceived.

What lifetime ambition have you yet to achieve?

Finding millions of pounds of sunken treasure and using the money to start a diving business with Jessica Alba.

Tell us one thing that most people don't know about you...

You don't actually think I'm going to answer that do you? I do work in the world of secrets and paranoia after all!
